Unable To Update Again, Samsung Officially Leaves Galaxy S20 Series
JAKARTA After five years accompanying the Galaxy S20 series, Samsung finally released the device. In Samsung's latest security patch page, the company no longer supports the Galaxy S20 series.
This news is not surprising because the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra only received system support for three years and a security patch for four years. In fact, Samsung has been kind to extend the duration of its update.
In April, Samsung extended the timeframe for the Galaxy S20 series security patch for a year. After launching its update per quarter, Samsung finally ended the support. Now, users will not see a notification of the update again.
To show that the company has stopped supporting the Galaxy S20 series update, Samsung has removed the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra models from the list of devices that qualify for the quarter security patch.
That way, support for the phone officially ends. Even though they have not received a system update or security update, the phone can still be used properly. However, the safety of the device will be much more vulnerable.

What's more, phones that do not receive security protection are often the target of cybercrime. To avoid this, users must be more careful in opening links. Another alternative is to switch to a newer phone.
Although the Galaxy S20 series has been removed from the quarterly update list, the Galaxy S20 FE and Galaxy Note 20 models are still on the support list. Both devices will still have support over the next few months.
This happened because the Galaxy S20 FE and Galaxy Note 20 were launched at the end of 2020. Most likely, these two devices will receive the last two security patches over the next few quarters.
