Lebaran, Traffic In The TPU Karet Bivak Area Is Crowded With Pilgrims

The traffic situation around the Karet Bivak Public Cemetery (TPU), Central Jakarta is congested due to the large number of pilgrims during Eid.

At 10.00 WIB, it was observed that many pilgrims' vehicles were parked on the side of the road. This then has an impact on the flow of traffic around the TPU being stalled.

Although it is difficult to get parking and heavy traffic flow, this does not dampen the excitement of the community to make grave pilgrimages.

"Earlier after prayer, greetings were sung as usual. Then every year I take the time to come here, to my brother and father's grave, then travel to your house," said Abdu (37) from Cakung as reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 31.

After the pilgrimage, pilgrims also seemed to enjoy various food and beverage merchandise in areas outside the gate. For example, such as chicken noodles, meatballs, and various ice items.

The grave nurses also seem busy cleaning and caring for the graves at this TPU. Since the end of their prayers, they went straight to the TPU.

One of them is Husni (60) who has been a grave nurse for five years at the Karet Bivak TPU. He said, usually take care of up to 13 graves per day.

But at this Lebaran moment, he is busier than usual. He was also grateful to be able to get sustenance in the form of tips from pilgrims.

"Alhamdulillah, this year can be said to be crowded. Even if it's not too much on Eid. It's usually during arrears, with D-1 Lebaran," said Husni.
