Jakarta Residents Are Advised Not To Go Home Due To COVID-19 In Today's Memory, March 28, 2020

JAKARTA Memories of today, five years ago, March 28, 2020, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan appealed to Jakarta residents not to return to their respective hometowns. The appeal was made because the number of transmission of the corona virus was high.

Previously, the COVID-19 pandemic that entered Indonesia brought new problems. The number of transmissions and deaths due to the virus from Wuhan has increased. The impact is everywhere. All Indonesian people, especially Jakarta, became hit by panic.

The existence of the COVID-19 pandemic brings panic cannot be underestimated. Countries that used to underestimate the presence of the corona virus began to feel the impact. The virus continues to infect the world's citizens.

There is no country that is not a hassle. The world health agency, WHO is also involved in the village. The narrative is because the COVID-19 pandemic is a new thing. WHO is still guessing how to handle it. Optimizing whether or not the guide action against the virus has not been caught.

This condition brings balance everywhere. Several countries then began to take the initiative to take their own actions. There are also those who inflame regional quarantine (lockdown) as the main option to break the chain of the spread of the Korona virus.

Anies Baswedan also took the same narrative. The governor of DKI Jakarta wants to immediately quarantine the area. Anies believes that the plan can bring many benefits to the whole of Jakarta.

Central Jakarta's condition is considered the most important consideration. When transmission in Jakarta is not taken seriously, other areas can find it difficult to fight the spread of COVID-19. Health workers will not be able to accommodate COVID-19 patients continuously.

The regional quarantine idea raised in early March 2020 received support from several members of the Indonesian House of Representatives. They agreed with Anies' idea because regional quarantine was considered the most appropriate step. Because, there are no preventive measures besides regional quarantine.

"Yes, I think now it must be the same between the central government and DKI, the perception is as stated by the previous governor. The governor has asked for a lockdown for Jakarta, I think it is more effective, because everyone has entered DKI. .

"I think this has actually been discussed by the Governor of DKI for a long time to lock down Jakarta. But it has been hampered in the central government. Because DKI is the center of entry, I think it is necessary for DKI to take lockdowns like that, specifically for DKI," said Deputy Chairman of Commission V DPR Syarief Abdullah Alkadrie as quoted on the coil page, March 27, 2020.

Anies' wish never came to the blessing of the central government. This condition is unfortunate for many parties because the number of COVID-19 transmission in Jakarta has increased sharply. Anies did not lose his mind. He appealed to Jakarta residents not to return to their hometowns on March 28, 2020.

Anies made this appeal so that Jakarta residents do not bring the virus to their hometowns. Those who look healthy can be infected with the corona virus and transmit it to their families. Anies also guarantees that those who remain in Jakarta will be facilitated in health matters.

"One of the things we discussed earlier, we ask all Jakartans not to leave Jakarta outside, especially to their hometowns. This message has actually been conveyed many times, the goal is to ensure that you, ladies and gentlemen, are healthy."

"If we need health services, we can provide assistance. So I hope that everyone will take a responsible stance by not leaving Jakarta and not leaving the village, especially if the person concerned has the status of ODP (person in monitoring)," said Anies as quoted by the COMPASS.com page, March 28, 2020.
