Scout Members Involved In Helping Homecomers At Pasar Senen Station

JAKARTA - Scout members who are high school (SMA) students are on standby to serve travelers at Pasar Senen Station during the Eid 2025 holiday period.

Raditya, a Scout member from SMAN 5 Kemayoran, Jakarta, said that he accepted an offer from the police to become a Scout member who was seconded at Pasar Senen Station.

"Every year it is offered. Last year it was also like this," he said when met in the waiting room of Pasar Senen Station, Jakarta, Wednesday.

At Pasar Senen Station, Raditya along with five other Scout members helped direct passengers to ticket issuance and patrol.

Raditya himself is tasked with helping passengers print train tickets at the engine counter located near the departure gate.

Actually, we help ticketing and patrols too. We are on duty until 16.00 WIB," he said.

Raditya, who currently sits in class XII, said that this is not his first time escorting travelers at the station. Last year, he also served at Pasar Senen Station to help travelers.

The 17-year-old boy said that while on standby last year, he had the opportunity to maintain security when former President Joko Widodo, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo was present at the station.

"We help keep them safe," he said.

The reason he is back on standby during this year's homecoming season is to fill his free time during the school holidays.

"Because the house is bored. School holidays until April 8th. Instead of just sleeping at home, so help people here," he said.

As for 2025, Scout members will be alerted this Wednesday until D+5 Lebaran.

Previously, the National Police Chief, General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that the 2025 Ketupat Operation held by the police involved all stakeholders such as the TNI, Basarnas, BMKG, the Ministry of Transportation, to Scouts.

"The total is 164,298 joint personnel," said the National Police Chief.

The National Police Chief also said that there were 2,835 posts on standby consisting of 1,738 security posts, 788 service posts, 309 integrated posts. A total of 126,000 objects will be secured.

"We have secured 126,736 security objects ranging from mosques, prayer ID locations, shopping centers, terminals, stations, ports, airports and tourist attractions," he said.
