North Sumatra Gas Supply Ensured Safe

JAKARTA - The government ensures that the gas supply for more than 46.000 families in the Medan area, North Sumatra is safe and under control during Ramadan and ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1446 H.

"Representing the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, today I am in North Sumatra to review the readiness of the energy sector in welcoming Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. There are quite a lot of household gas networks in northern Sumatra, around 46,000 connections," said Head of BPH Migas Erika Retnowati, quoted Monday, March 24.

Erika continued, gas supply for the North Sumatra region came from Lhokseumawe Field and Pangkalan Susu Field. Furthermore, it was distributed to 46,239 households, 435 small customers, as well as 186 commercial and industrial customers.

Safe conditions are also ensured for the supply of fuel in the North Sumatra region. In general, in safe conditions, with an average endurance of 23 days. Erika emphasized that the quality of fuel, including Pertamax, Pertalite, and Pertamax Turbo, has been tested by Lemigas and meets quality standards. In addition, checking volume at gas station nozzles shows that the amount of fuel given is in accordance with standards, some even slightly more.

"People don't need to worry, both in terms of quality and quantity of fuel that is prepared," he said.

In the LPG sector, Erika ensures that the selling price at the base is in accordance with the Highest Retail Price (HET) of IDR 17,000 per tube. The purchase process has also been regulated by a verification system through an official ID card and application. LPG stock at the base is monitored to be safe with an endurance of about 11 days.

"We also check the weight of the tube and the results are in accordance with the provisions, so that people can calmly face Ramadan and Eid," concluded Erika.
