Police Arrest Foreigner Carrying 12 Kilograms Of Methamphetamine At Bakauheni Port
The personnel of the Narcotics Satres, South Lampung Police, Lampung Police arrested a foreign national (WNA) from Malaysia who carried 12 kilograms (kg) of methamphetamine at Bakauheni Port.
"The latest on March 17, 2025, the police succeeded in disclosing an international network of drug cases suspected of being the Ferdy Pratama network," said Lampung Police Chief Inspector General Helmy Santika as reported by ANTARA, Friday, March 21.
The arrest occurred when members of the port entrance guard received information related to an attempted drug smuggling to Java Island.
"The perpetrator used a bus from Medan, then the officers guarding the port entrance or the checkpoint managed to secure a courier from Malaysia carrying 12 kg of crystal methamphetamine which was put in his bag, from the results of the investigation of the perpetrators including the Ferdy Pratama network," he continued.
The police continue to tighten supervision at the area of the entrance and exit of Bakauheni Port.
The Port area, especially at Bakauheni Port, is one of the vulnerable points for smuggling prohibited goods, because the area is a place for entry and exit and gate for the island of Sumatra.

In this case, the perpetrator is now charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) or Article 112 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of a maximum sentence of life or the death penalty.
