Minister Of Transportation Predicts That Tonight There Will Be Movement Of Homecoming

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi predicts that the 2025 Eid homecoming wave will take place on Friday (21/3) night.

"Later tonight, it is predicted that there will be an increase in the number of people (who depart) for homecoming, the spike is predicted starting today," said Minister of Transportation Dudy, at a press conference reported by ANTARA, Friday, March 21.

According to him, this is influenced by the advice of working policies from anywhere (WFA) for workers in a number of government and private agencies which will take effect from Monday (24/3).

The Ministry of Transportation has inaugurated the 2025 Eid Transport Center Command Post to ensure public travel and mobility during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr which are safe, comfortable, and smooth.

"WFA policy is valid starting March 24, therefore this post will be opened starting today, because today is Friday, which is predicted by the public to start going home (because before the weekend and WFA implementation)," he explained.

Dudy said, it is estimated that more than 146 million Indonesians will travel back and forth this year using various modes of transportation.

"A total of 30,451 buses, 772 ships, 404 aircraft, and 2,550 train units are ready for use," he said.

The Minister of Transportation ensured that the government had also prepared transportation facilities and infrastructure to support community homecoming trips.

In addition, he said, the government also provides various incentives and policies to facilitate access to public homecoming, such as reducing airplane ticket rates by an average of around 14 percent, discounting toll rates by up to 20 percent, and free homecoming programs.
