Muhammadiyah High School 25 Pamulang Makes Real Efforts To Prevent Bullying In Schools
JAKARTA To overcome the rise of violence in the world of education, the Teacher Community of the Sharing Satkaara (KGSB), the Guidance and Counseling Teacher's House (RGBK), and the Indonesia Student & Youth Forum (ISYF) again held the #AyoBalasBabik program. This program is a social effort to instill an anti-bullying culture in schools by responding to violence not with violence, but with kindness.
As the second school in the pilot project of this program, SMA Muhammadiyah 25 Pamulang became the first educational institution in Banten to implement the #AyoBalasBabik program. With a collaborative and participatory approach, the program is expected to be an inspiration for other schools in transmitting the practice of #AyoBalasBabik to create a safe and comfortable learning environment for students.
Based on data from the Indonesian Education Monitoring Network (JPPI), cases of violence in the educational environment have continued to increase in recent years. In 2024, there were 573 cases of violence reported in schools, madrasas, and Islamic boarding schools, with 31 percent of them related to bullying or bullying. In comparison, in 2020 there were only 91 cases, which then increased to 285 cases in 2023. This spike shows that bullying is still a serious issue that needs attention from more than various parties.
#AyoBalasBaik Islamic Boarding School, Building A Change Agent
The program lasted for two days (19-20 March 2025) and was attended by 50 students representing classes X and XI as well as administrators of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM). In this activity, the participants received an understanding of various forms of bullying and were trained to become agents of change in creating a school environment free from violence.
Various interactive activities such as overview experiences, game myths and facts about bullying, as well as reflection sessions to help participants understand the dangers of bullying and the importance of responding to violence with kindness. The hope is that students involved can become pioneers of change in building positive culture in their respective schools. Then on the second day the students attended the stage general and social action plan sessions with Peace Generation.
The chairman of KGSB, Ardyles Faesilio, expressed his appreciation to Muhammadiyah SMA 25 Pamulang for his involvement in this program. Through this Good Reply Islamic Boarding School, it is hoped that agents of change will be born from students in campaigning for an anti-violence culture in the world of education. With a collaborative and participatory approach, #AyoBalasBaik is expected to inspire continuous and massive positive changes," he said, Thursday, March 20.
"The #AyoBalasBaik Islamic Boarding School is part of a social movement to expand the anti-bullying campaign by instilling a good culture from an early age. Meanwhile, Executive Director of ISYF, Dinnur Garista Wirawan expressed his determination to continue to expand this program to other schools. Pesantren #AyoBalasBaik aims to disseminate good practices among students so that anti-bullying culture is stronger. We hope that this movement can minimize cases of bullying and build positive characters for the younger generation," he said.
With the #AyoBalasBaik program, it is hoped that more schools will participate in efforts to fight bullying in the educational environment. Real awareness and action from various parties, ranging from teachers, students, to the community, is very necessary to create a learning environment that is safe, harmonious, and full of kindness.
