The SAR Team For The Evacuation Of Dozens Of Passengers Of KMP Nusa Makmur Who Ran Aground In Gilimanuk Waters
Joint officers evacuated passengers of the Nusa Makmur Passenger Motor Ship (KMP) which ran aground near Gilimanuk Harbor, Jembrana Regency, Bali.
Head of the Water and Air Police Unit (Polairud) of Jembrana Police, Adjunct Commissioner (AKP) I Putu Suparta, said the ship ran aground on the north side of Gilimanuk Harbor on Thursday morning.
"The ship ran aground because it was driven by strong winds and strong currents to the north. Once information was received, the joint team went straight to the location to carry out the rescue," he said as quoted by ANTARA.
He said the ship, which was headed by Abdul Azis Hadji Jabbar, carried 32 units of vehicles of various types, 77 passengers, 13 crew and 3 canteen staff.
After being evacuated, a joint team consisting of the Jembrana Polairud Unit, Polairud Polda Bali, Battalion C of the Brimob Unit of the Bali Police, TNI-AL Gilimanuk, Basarnas Negara, Syahbandar Gilimanuk (KUPP), BBKK Gilimanuk (KKP Gilimanuk) and PMI Jembrana passengers were directed to the VIP waiting room of Gilimanuk Port.
"Passengers are welcome to rest and a medical examination is carried out," he said.
In addition to Gilimanuk Harbor, he revealed that two passengers were evacuated to Ketapang Port.
In order to get closer to the port, KMP Nusa Makmur is waiting for the high tide to escape from the landslide.

Jembrana Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner (AKBP) Endang Tri Purwanto during the 2025 Ketupat Agung Operations Force, also admitted that he was worried about the weather in the Bali Strait, especially during the homecoming flow.
"The BMKG continues to provide developments in the latest weather forecasts. Hopefully, the homecoming in the Bali Strait will run smoothly," he said.
