Gilimanuk Bali Port Closes 24 Hours When Nyepi
DENPASAR - Gilimanuk Port in Jembrana Regency, Bali will be closed for 24 hours from March 29 to 30 during Nyepi Day, so travelers are advised to adjust the departure schedule to the Hindu holiday.
"The last ship departed from Gilimanuk Port on March 29 at 05.00 WITA. Therefore, we ask travelers who go to Java to adjust their departure schedule so that Nyepi is not trapped while still on the road," said Jembrana Police Chief AKBP Endang Tri Purwanto, Thursday, March 20.
He said the closure of crossing services in the Bali Strait would be carried out until Nyepi Day was completed or on March 30 morning.
According to AKBP Endang, to avoid the accumulation of travelers in Gilimanuk or travelers who are still on the Denpasar Gilimanuk highway during Nyepi, the purchase of ship tickets will be temporarily suspended on March 29 starting at 03.00 WITA.
"With Eid al-Fitr adjacent to Nyepi Day, travelers should be able to adjust so that there are no problems on the road," he said.
The series of Nyepi activities, he said, not only stopped all activities from March 29 to 30, but also there were gang-up activities or ogoh-ogoh parades which usually also used the Denpasar-Gilimanuk highway.

The existence of this ogoh-ogoh parade, he said, must also be considered by travelers to arrange their departure schedule because there is a potential for congestion on the Denpasar-Gilimanuk highway.
From the data collection that his party carried out, it is estimated that 182 ogoh-ogoh will use the Denpasar-Gilimanuk main road in the Jembrana Regency area.
"The point is that all parties must prioritize tolerance. We ourselves from the security forces will work optimally so that unwanted things do not appear when Nyepi," he said.
