Foxconn Plans To Build 4 New Electric Vehicles, 2 Models From Japanese Brands
JAKARTA - The name Foxconn has recently continued to appear to the public because the Taiwanese technology company wants to merge with Nissan, and is increasingly in the car industry.
Most recently, citing from the Carscoops page, Wednesday, March 19, Foxconn has revealed that the company is close to signing a deal with two Japanese automakers to design and manufacture two electric cars.
Unfortunately, the Japanese company's details are still limited but the two will be assembled together with two electric vehicles born from Foxconn itself.
Foxconn Chairman Young Liu, had revealed that the company hopes to sign an agreement with two Japanese companies in the next two months. Later, Foxconn will use the design and contract manufacturing service business model in the development of the new electric vehicle.
There is no information about the two brands that are invited to cooperate with Foxconn, but news has circulated, one of which is Nissan. Given that Nissan's merger with Honda has failed and the brand (Nissan) has stated its availability to cooperate with technology companies.

In addition to being busy completing a cooperation agreement with Japanese brands, Foxconn must also continue to make its own electric cars. Focus Taiwan reports that the company will start producing Model C or an electric crossover in North America during the fourth quarter of this year.
The electric crossover was first introduced as a concept in October 2021 and, in the form of concepts, is claimed to have a range of 700 km. Given that it has been almost three years since the concept was introduced, the production model may experience some changes.
In addition to Model C, Foxconn will produce a Model B which will reportedly reach production lines in the middle of this year. The model was originally introduced in 2022 and has a size similar to VW ID.3. The car was designed by Pininfarina, powered by a single electric motor with a power of 230 hp, and is claimed to have a range of 280 miles (450 km).
