Menkum: There Are 14 K/L That Can Be Filled In By The Active TNI In The TNI Bill

JAKARTA - Minister of Law (Menkum) Supratman Andi Agtas revealed that only 14 approved ministries/agencies (K/L) could be filled by active TNI soldiers in the Draft Law (RUU) on Amendments to Law Number 34 of 2004 concerning the TNI.

He said in his preparation, initially there were 16 ministries/agencies that could be filled with active soldiers in the bill. However, there are agencies that are reduced or whose meanings are unified.

"14 it was, 16. Because the defense and national defense councils were one later, such as the Minister of State Secretary, there would also be a presidential military secretary," Supratman said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 18.

He revealed that the dozens of ministries/agencies that can be filled by active soldiers are basically still related to their duties in the defense sector.

According to him, the discussion of the bill at the first level or at the commission level has been completed and will be brought to the level of the DPR RI plenary meeting.

In simple terms, according to him, there are three points of change that are approved in the bill.

He also emphasized that the active TNI who wanted to fill civilian positions outside the 14 ministries/agencies must resign from the TNI service or retire.

Untuk itu, sejumlah TNI aktif yang saat ini tengah menjabat di jabatan sipil yang di luar ketentuan itu akan segera pensiun.

"The issue of concerns regarding ABRI's duality has been answered, that it is absolutely not true," he said.

Previously, Commission I of the DPR approved the discussion of the Bill on Amendments to Law Number 34 of 2004 concerning the Indonesian National Army (TNI), at the first level to be brought to the next level at the plenary meeting level of the DPR RI.

The bill was approved for discussion at a plenary meeting after all political party factions in the DPR expressed their final opinion on the mini-fraction. All factions also agreed to the bill to be discussed at a further level.

The decision was held at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, witnessed by the Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, Deputy Minister of Defense Donny Ermawan, to Deputy Minister of Finance Thomas Djiwandono.
