Tragedy of 3 Police Shot in Way Kanan, Alleged TNI Member Surrenders
JAKARTA - Three police officers were shot dead in Lampung. One of the two suspected perpetrators of the shooting is suspected to be a member of the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and has surrendered himself to the Negara Batin Police, Way Kanan Regency on Monday, March 17 evening.
The perpetrator is suspected of shooting three police officers, namely the Negara Batin Police Chief Iptu Lusiyanto and two of his members Bripka Petrus and Bripda Ghalib while raiding a cockfighting gambling arena in the Register 44 area, Karang Mani Village, Negara Batin, Monday afternoon.
From the information gathered, the perpetrator surrendered himself to the Negara Batin Police several hours after the incident of three police officers being shot in Lampung.
The perpetrator is suspected to have the initials Peltu LS, who is said to still be an active member of the TNI. From the photos circulating on WhatsApp and social media, the perpetrator is seen sitting in front of a table with his hands handcuffed.
The X account @Heraloebss said the perpetrator surrendered himself alone, while one other suspected perpetrator is still at large. "Peltu LS has surrendered himself, Kopka BS has not," he tweeted.
However, there has been no official statement from the Way Kanan Police or the Sriwijaya Military Command regarding the alleged perpetrators of TNI members surrendering after the case of three police officers being shot in Lampung.
Previously reported, three police officers were shot dead while raiding a cockfighting gambling arena in the Register 44 area, Karang Manik. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon at around 16:50 Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
The raid on the cockfighting gambling arena was carried out by a joint team from the Way Kanan Police and the Negara Batin Police led by the Head of Samapta of the Way Kanan Police, Ipda Engga.

During the raid on the cockfighting arena, the sound of gunshots was heard from an unknown direction. The gunshots hit the three victims, causing all three to die at the scene.
The bodies of the three police officers who were shot in Lampung were autopsied at the Bhayangkara Hospital, Bandar Lampung.
