Prosecutors Present The Ex-Kapolresta Barelang In The Trial Of The Narcotics Case 10 Former Police Members

JAKARTA - The public prosecutor (JPU) of the Batam District Attorney's Office (Kejari) presented the former Head of the Barelang Police, Kombes Pol. Nugroho Tri Nuryanto as a witness in a drug case trial involving 10 former members of the Narcotics Unit of the Barelang Police at the Batam District Court (PN), Monday 17 March.

Public Prosecutor Ali Naek Hasibuan said a total of 7 witnesses were presented in the fourth week of the drug case trial of the former Narcotics Unit of the Barelang Police.

In total today we present seven witnesses. One of them is the former Kapolresta Barelang, there is also the treasurer of the Barelang Police," said Naek, confiscated by Antara.

Kombes Nugroho was presented in connection with the criminal events that occurred during his leadership.

The officer prevented the Police from being transferred to July 2024 to be appointed as the Dansat Brimob of the Central Kalimantan Police.

Apart from Nugroho, another witness was presented by Didi Wahyudi as part of the finance at the Barelang Police.

Meanwhile, five other witnesses came from the Tembilahan Class II A Correctional Institution (Lapas).

The five witnesses consisted of four men and one woman. Among the four witnesses from the Tembilan Prison, one person is a member of the National Police named Rio Aditya.

The witness examination trial took place online, starting at around 13.30 WIB, led by the Chief Justice of the Tiwik Panel of Judges.

During the trial, the chairman of the panel of judges asked Kombes Pol. Nugroho Tri Nuryanto did he know the 12 defendants.

"I know the eleven, but all I know is Nanda (Eks Kasatresnarkoba), Sigit (Kanit 1) and Rambe (Ibn Ma'ruf Rambe members of unit 1)," said Nugroho.

The fourth week of trial is still presenting witnesses from the prosecutor's side. A total of 15 witnesses have been presented.

In the first week two witnesses were arrested from the Riau Islands Police. Then in the second and third weeks, seven witnesses were presented, including three convicts of drug cases, and four witnesses from the Propam Polda Kepri.

This case is related to the processing of 1 kg of methamphetamine evidence allegedly sold by former members of the Narcotics Unit of the Barelang Police to finance information sources (SI) in the disclosure of drug cases at the Barelang Police.
