A 10-year-old Boy Dies Drowning In A Palangkaraya Flood Location
PALANGKARAYA - A 10-year-old boy was found dead as a result of drowning in a flood site on Jalan Anoi, Palangka Village, Palangkaraya City, Central Kalimantan, on Sunday, March 16 afternoon.
This incident was discovered after the victim's friend reported the incident at around 13.30 WIB. Residents who received the report immediately conducted a search around the location where the victim drowned.
After a search for approximately 30 minutes, the victim's body was found and immediately taken to Yasmin Palangkaraya Hospital.
The head of RT Sahrudin said the victim was a resident of Jalan Pelatuk 7, Palangka Village, who came to the flood location with his friends to play and swim.
"At first I didn't know. I happened to pass by and was told by the victim's friend that someone had drowned. I wasn't sure at first, thinking they were joking. After making sure, I immediately called other residents to help with the search," said Sahrudin.
He added that the location of the incident was often used as a place to play and swim by residents during seasonal flooding.
"Actually, we often reprimanded the children who swam here, but they came back again. The victim's parents said that their child really couldn't swim," he explained.

The case of the sinking of children during floods in the Mendawai Complex and Jalan Anoi area is not the first time this has happened. Similar incidents often occur because there are no signs of prohibition, so residents are still determined to play and swim in that location.
