5 Terombang Ambing Fishermen On Pulau Mas, Tual City Successfully Evacuated By SAR Team
The joint SAR team from the Tual SAR Post, Maluku managed to save five fishermen who were adrift around the waters of Pulau Mas, Tual City after their long boat experienced engine failure.
"This rescue operation was carried out in the early hours of Sunday at WIT," said Head of the Ambon Basarnas Search and Rescue Office, Maluku Muhamad Arafah in Ambon, Sunday, March 16.
These fishermen were identified as Lusi Ramean (45), Fikran Madelis (26), Anyong Ramean (30), Harian Watwawan (27), and Zein L. (35).
The Joint SAR team consisting of the SAR Tual Post and the victim's family were deployed to the scene at around 03:20 WIT using the RIB Pos SAR Tual at coordinates 5°27'3.13" S - 132 deg43'33.15" E, with a distance of approximately 10.1 Nautical Mile.
According to him, after searching for more than an hour, at 04:50 WIT, all the victims were found by the joint SAR team in a safe condition.
"The longboat they are using is temporarily adrift around the waters of Pulau Mas 4 Nautical Mile from the initial incident location," he said.
All victims were then evacuated to Tual City to be handed over to their families.
The incident began at 02:30 WIT, after doing fishing activities and about to return, the motorbike was damaged, although several times it tried to be repaired but still couldn't.

Arafah added, after communicating with the family and forwarding the information to the Tual SAR Post and taking action, thank God all the victims were found safe and have now been handed over to the family.
