Jayawijaya Police Make Sure Wamena's Condition Is Conducive After Rusuh During The Residence Of The Elected Regents
Jayawijaya Police confirmed that Wamena City was conducive after the election of the Regent and Deputy Regent of Jayawijaya Aethianius Murib-Ronny Elopere ended in chaos the day before.
Head of Public Relations of the Jayawijaya Police, Ipda M Suryanto, said that the security and order situation had improved.
"We can confirm that the situation in Wamena City is conducive, because the concentration of the masses has returned to their homes," he said in Wamena, Antara, Sunday, March 16.
According to him, it looks like the streets are still quiet, but shops, shopping centers have returned to normal. Even the security forces are not on guard because the situation is safe so that people can carry out their activities," he said.
He explained that the situation during the thanksgiving of the elected Regent and Deputy Regent of Jayawijaya elected Athenius Murib-Ronny Elopere was indeed a little tense but with police layered security and helping the TNI, the situation could return to normal.
"We hope that this situation will continue to be maintained like this so that anyone can carry out any activities in Wamena City," he said.
He hopes that all elements of society in Jayawijaya Regency will remain calm and maintain a security and order situation, especially since they are approaching the Easter celebration for Christians.
