The Governor Of East Java Ensures The Smooth Flow Of Homecoming

East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa together with the East Java Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) strengthened the synergy to ensure smooth homecoming and long Eid Al-Fitr 1446 H holidays in the local area.

Khofifah emphasized the importance of cross-sectoral readiness, including anticipation of logistics, weather conditions, health posts, and the safety of travelers.

"This time it coincided with a long holiday. Cooperation, coordination, and communication of all parties must go well," said Khofifah as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, March 15.

He reminded the public to pay attention to the operational schedule of Ketapang-Gilimanuk Port which will be closed on March 28 at 17.00 to March 30 at 06.00 because it coincides with Nyepi Day.

In addition, he asked for vigilance against extreme weather, especially in several areas with high rainfall such as Pacitan, Ngawi, Mojokerto, and Banyuwangi.

For the safety of travelers, Khofifah also instructed the strengthening of health facilities in accident-prone lanes.

"Puskesmas must remain open 24 hours to ensure first aid for accident victims," he said.

The East Java Regional Police will hold Operation Ketupat Semeru 2025 on March 23, April 8, involving 15,231 joint personnel. A total of 149 security posts, 41 service posts, and 13 integrated posts were prepared on the strategic homecoming route.

In addition, the stock of fuel and LPG is confirmed to be safe by Patrainaga Jatimbalinus.

The public is also advised to take advantage of emergency services if they need assistance during the trip.

Pangdam V/Brawijaya Maj. Gen. Rudy Saladin emphasized the importance of mitigating the buildup at Ketapang Port, with the dissemination of information on operational schedules from an early age.

"Kapolres and Dandim must map out potential vulnerabilities. Information on port closures must be clearly conveyed so that people are not trapped in long queues," he said.
