Atalanta Vs Bologna: La Dea Defeats 10 Players of I Veltri 5 Goals Without Reply

JAKARTA - Atalanta rose to second place in the Italian League standings after a 5-0 win over Bologna, which had to complete a 10-player match, in the 33rd match at the Gewiss Stadium, Bergamo, Sunday local time (Monday WIB).

Gian Piero Gasperini's team took a 2-0 lead until halftime thanks to Ruslan Malinovskiy's left-footed strike and Luis Muriel's penalty execution.

Four minutes into the second half, Atalanta took a big advantage after midfielder Jerdy Schouten received a red card for a foul on Cristian Romero, forcing Bologna to continue with only 10 players on the pitch.

A situation of 11 against 10 was immediately exploited by Atalanta to widen their lead when Remo Freuler scored the hosts' third goal in the 57th minute.

Two minutes later, Duvan Zapata emphasized Atalanta's superiority, even more, when he finished Malinovskiy's pass with a hard right-footed shot from the center of the penalty box.

In the 73rd minute, it was Aleksey Miranchuk's turn to score after tricking goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski with a shot into the bottom left corner of the net.

Atalanta rose to second place in the standings with 68 points, overtaking AC Milan (66) who had just played their match the day before.

Meanwhile, Bologna (38), who lost their third in their last five matches, are stuck in 12th after being ousted by Udinese (39), Antara reported according to the official Italian League website.

In the next fixture, the two teams will return to play on Sunday, May 2, when Bologna hosts Fiorentina at Renato Dall'Ara while Atalanta visits Sassuolo headquarters.
