Speaking With President Putin, Crown Prince Of MBS Affirms Saudi Arabia's Commitment To Facilitate Ukrainian Crisis Dialogue

JAKARTA - Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bi Abdulaziz Al Saud reaffirmed his party's commitment to facilitating crisis dialogue in Ukraine while speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The conversation between the two was carried out by phone call, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported as quoted on Friday, March 14.

During the phone call, the two leaders discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries and ways to improve it.

The two leaders also discussed efforts to resolve the crisis in Ukraine that broke out on February 24, 2022.

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment to facilitating dialogue and supporting all initiatives aimed at achieving political resolutions.

The Prince of MBS is also ready to try to bring the relationship between Moscow and Washington back to normal, the Kremlin said, as quoted by TASS.

"After international contacts organized by the kingdom, Mohammed bin Salman highlighted the importance of efforts to resolve the Ukraine crisis and also expressed his readiness to contribute more to normalizing Russia-US relations," the Kremlin said.

The Russian leader praised Riyadh's mediation and thanked Saudi Arabia, among others, for "creating a favorable atmosphere for holding talks between Russian and US officials in Riyadh on February 18".

The conversation between the two leaders followed a meeting of the United States and Ukraine delegations in Jeddah on Tuesday, in which Kyiv expressed his readiness to accept a 30-day full ceasefire.

Saudi Arabia has played a mediation role since the Russian invasion, including brokering the prisoner exchange and hosting talks between Moscow and Washington last month.
