Pramono Reviews Helicopter Floods Reaping Criticism, DKI Golkar Asks Not To Be Questioned

JAKARTA - Secretary of the Golkar faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Andri Santosa assessed that the public does not need to question the way DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung reviewed the Jakarta flood using helicopters.

Pramono's review of flood conditions has drawn criticism from a number of parties. According to Andri, the problem of reviewing flood locations should be not to be sharpened in comparison.

"If the air review can speed up steps and can help identify points for the evacuation of victims and provide positive assistance," Andri said in his statement, Friday, March 14.

Andri believes that what needs to be considered is the follow-up to flood management from the DKI Provincial Government. Then, steps are taken to help disaster victims, as well as mitigation for disaster prevention in the future.

"But if you just look at it, of course, it also needs to be criticized. And so far the handling by the provincial government has been fast and on target," he said.

On the one hand, Andri reminded Pramono to coordinate comprehensively with the buffer zone, especially in anticipating Jakarta floods due to water shipments from upstream.

"The Governor's concrete steps in making studies to deal with floods in Jakarta together with the Governor of West Java's handling must start from upstream to downstream. Good coordination between Regional Leaders is needed. The goal is to create a sense of comfort in society," he explained.

Previously, Pramono Anung responded to the scorn from a number of parties regarding the activity of monitoring floods using helicopters belonging to the Baharkam Polri Water and Air Police Corps (Polairud) on Thursday, March 6.

Some people think Pramono should not use helicopters when reviewing floods. They also compared with President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka who came directly to the flood-affected locations to meet residents.

Pramono admitted that he received the criticism leveled at him. However, he also emphasized that the flood monitoring activity by helicopter was not of his own accord.

"Criticism is a very healthy medicine. I was criticized for any gratitude, thank you, thank you, thank you. And I was riding a helicopter, not my request. Someone offered it," said Pramono at Kramat Jati Main Market, East Jakarta, Monday, March 10.

Moreover, in his review, Pramono also wanted to map flood-affected areas that have urgency as a location for the continuation of the normalization of the Ciliwung River.

"So why did it be seen from above because they wanted naturalization, sodetan was everywhere that could be done. So once again heli was not meant to be arrogant," explained Pramono.
