Bareskrim Polri Bongkar 609 TIP Cases During 2025
JAKARTA - The National Police revealed the results of the temporary handling of cases of trafficking in persons (TPPO) in the 2025 period. Around 609 cases have been revealed with the determination of 754 suspects.
"In 2025 we have handled as many as 609 cases, with 1,503 victims and 754 suspects," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Komjen Wahyu Widada, to reporters at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs office, Thursday, March 13.
Hundreds of cases revealed were not only trafficking people out of the country. However, there are also cases of smuggling foreign nationals (WNA) to Indonesia.
The majority of TIP cases involving foreigners are related to the world of prostitution. However, there were no details regarding the number of cases.
It is only conveyed that the number of cases in the 2025 period will increase than before. This is because the data for 2024 shows 843 disclosure of cases.
"In 2024 there were 843 cases, with 2,179 victims and 1,090 suspects," said Wahyu.
The National Police, Wahyu stressed, will continue to cooperate with relevant institutions and ministries to uncover the TIP case. In particular, protecting Indonesian migrant workers in other countries.
"Of course this is a form of our commitment to continue to carry out law enforcement activities, and also provide protection to Indonesian citizens," said Wahyu.

Previously reported, the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam) Budi Gunawan formed two Coordination for Combating Forest and Forestry and Coordination of Protection against Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) and the Crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO).
The Coordinating Decree for the Protection of Migrant Workers and TIP will be filled by the Minister of Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers, together with the National Police Chief, TNI Commander, and the Minister of Environment.
