40 Ships Prepared To Serve Homecoming Through Sunda Strait Crossing
BANDARLAMPUNG - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi said that as many as 40 units of ferries were provided to facilitate travelers on the 2025 Eid homecoming flow to make crossings in the Sunda Strait.
"In preparing for the 2025 Lebaran homecoming flow, there are around 40 units of ferries provided for the ship, and there are also reserve ships if there are problems from the ship used during operations," said Dudy Purwagandhi after the Coordination Meeting ahead of Lebaran 2025 in Bandarlampung, Thursday, March 13.
Dudy said as many as 40 ships provided were ships for regular crossing operations.
"All 40 ships are regular, there is no executive ship, because the executive is at the front and becomes a bottleneck or will create a narrowing point for the flow of vehicles at Merak Port. So that everything is changed regularly," he said.
He continued that the government was also alerting Basarnas ships and patrol boats to accompany ships crossing the Sunda Strait to maintain the safety of travelers while traveling.
"This year, the flow of Eid homecoming or backflow will eliminate all executive piers and be replaced into regular dock operations so that all piers will be treated equally," he continued.

According to the Minister of Transportation, this was done to prevent the flow of ferry ship users from causing queues at ferry ports.
"For ferries, we have evaluated it from the previous year, and the problem is at the executive dock. Therefore, to anticipate the increase in the flow of ship users, everything is made into regular dock operations," he explained.
The Minister of Transportation hopes that with the regulation of crossings and the availability of 40 ships, it can facilitate the flow of crossings in the Sunda Strait in the Lebaran 2025 period.
