Sweden Disbursed US$137 Million For Ukraine Reconstruction

JAKARTA - Sweden will provide Ukraine with more than 1.4 billion Swedish kronors to assist reconstruction and development, as well as urgent humanitarian needs.

Sweden's Minister of International Development Benjamin Dousa explained the package was Sweden's largest civil aid program, including support for the reconstruction of the destroyed infrastructure, as well as clearing mines and training of health workers.

"Support for Ukraine is a matter of solidarity, but also Swedish security issues," Dousa told a news conference.

"The last few weeks have not been easy. It has never been clearer that we can no longer underestimate the world's support for Ukraine," he added.
