JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) recorded that until February 2025 the realization of the social protection budget (perlinsos) reached IDR 36.7 trillion or 7.3 percent of the target in the 2025 State Budget of IDR 503.2 trillion.

Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara conveyed that the social protection budget (perlinsos) in 2025 amounted to IDR 503.2 trillion, an increase compared to last year's IDR 496.7 trillion.

Suahasil conveyed that the access of poor families for basic needs through the Family Hope Program (PKH) was reached by 10 million beneficiary families, the Basic Food Card Program in 18 million beneficiary families, BBM subsidies as much as 19.41 million kilo liters, LPG subsidies as much as 8.170 million kg and Village cash direct assistance as many as 2.96 million beneficiary families.

"This is run by various kinds of Ministries, the Family Hope program is reached by 10 million families, basic food cards in 18 million beneficiary families, fuel subsidies, LPG subsidies, including village funds that can be used for direct cash assistance," he said at the KiTa State Budget Press Conference, Thursday, March 13.

Suahasil revealed that the social protection budget is a budget post that is not affected by efficiency, and remains a priority in the national agenda.

"As I said earlier, the social protection budget is not included in the efficiency. So the efficiency is more in bureaucratic spending, not in social protection," he said.

The total social protection budget consists of ministries/agencies (KL) of IDR 153.4 trillion or 31 percent of the ceiling, non-K/L of IDR 339.1 trillion or 68 percent, and 2 percent or IDR 10.7 trillion for transfers to the regions (TKD).

Previously, the realization of social assistance expenditure (bansos) was IDR 25.9 trillion or equivalent to 19.2 percent of the budget ceiling in the APBN.

Suahasil revealed that spending on social assistance is a budget post that is not affected by efficiency, and remains a priority on the national agenda.

Therefore, Suahasil said that the distribution process would still be carried out according to the set schedule.

"Social assistance spending has been spent IDR 25.9 trillion or 19.2 percent of the ceiling in the state budget. This is spending whose benefits are felt by the community, especially the people whose economy is below," said Suahasil.

Meanwhile, Suahasil explained that the use of social assistance consisted of PKH assistance of Rp7.3 trillion, basic food card assistance of Rp10.3 trillion, PBI JKN contribution assistance of around Rp7.7 trillion, PIP assistance of Rp0.6 billion, and KIP Lecture assistance of Rp156.3 billion.

"So if in 2024, the first 2 months of Social Assistance have spent IDR 22.5 trillion, then in 2025 the first 2 months of spending has increased to IDR 25.9 trillion," he said.
