Immigration Secures 13 Foreigners Working In PMA Fictitious Companies In Batam
The Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections secured 13 foreign nationals who worked and established fictitious companies in foreign investment activities (PMA) in Batam, Riau Islands.
Acting Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Immigration, Saffar M. Godam, said that apart from the 13 foreign nationals (foreigners) who had been arrested, there were 13 other foreigners who were still in Indonesian territory and the immigration wanted list (DPO) would be included.
"Nine people outside Indonesia will cancel their immigration residence permits," Godam said at a press conference regarding the results of Operation Wira Alert 2025 in Batam, Antara, Thursday, March 13.
He explained that the security for foreigners was the result of an examination of 12 PMA companies that were included in the list of revocation of the Business Identification Number (NIB) by the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).
"The examination was carried out through Operation Wira Alert on March 11, 2025 in order to reduce the potential for immigration violations by foreigners guaranteed by PMA companies that are suspected of not meeting the requirements," said Godam.
This operation is carried out using an open and closed surveillance method in a predetermined area.
"The team supervises various methods, including document checks, sudden inspections, and gathering information from various sources. We want to ensure that the presence of foreigners in Batam is in accordance with applicable legal provisions," he explained.
In addition, in the industrial area target operation, as many as eight foreigners were arrested for allegedly violating immigration regulations.
"One Austrian citizen with the initials DB, who is an investor in the ITAS (Limited Stay Permit) and Director of PT All About City is suspected of establishing a fictitious company to extend his stay in Indonesia without clear investment activities," said Godam.
Then three Chinese nationals, namely JM, CC, and CK, were secured during their activities at PT Chuang Sheng Metal.
"JM and CC, which have ITAS investors, are suspected of abusing them by working as rough workers. Meanwhile, CK, which only has a residence permit for visits, is also suspected of violating the rules by working at the company," he said.
Godam added that four Chinese nationals with the initials ZH, MN, LH, and LZ were found working at PT Sun Gold Solar, although they only had a residence permit for visits, so they were suspected of abusing the permit.
In addition to the operation, the Batam Immigration Class I Special Immigration Office (TPI) is also following up on the immigration crime case of three Bangladeshi citizens with the initials FR, SK, and SM who enter Indonesian territory not through immigration checkpoints.
"They are suspected of committing a criminal act of immigration Article 113 of Law Number 63 of 2024 concerning the Third Amendment to Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration," he said.
An Indian citizen with the initials MT who was suspected of falsifying a limited stay permit was secured when officers carried out immigration surveillance in the Sagulung area, Batam.
