The Kremlin Hopes The US Will Provide An Explanation Of Meeting Results With Ukraine In Saudi Arabia

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said it hoped the United States would provide an explanation to Russia regarding the outcome of a meeting with Ukraine.

Delegations from the United States and Ukraine are known to hold a meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia today, in order to find a way to end the Ukraine-Russia war that has been going on since February 2022.

"The US-Ukraine meeting will take place in Jeddah today. The US, which is looking for ways to reach a peaceful solution, will continue to provide us with the latest information," Peskov said, launching TASS March 11.

"We will let you know once that happens," a Kremlin spokesman added, commenting on a report stating the US Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff was due to arrive in Moscow on Thursday to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

It is known that prior to today's talks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in Jeddah on Monday.

Both were received separately by the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) bin Abdulaziz Al Saud at the Al-Salam Palace.

President Zelensky said he would not attend Tuesday's talks with US officials. The Ukrainian delegation will include its chief staff, foreign ministers, defense ministers, and a top military official in the presidential government. On the other hand, Foreign Minister Rubio will participate in the delegation of Uncle Sam's country.

"The meeting has started very constructively," wrote Andriy Yermak, President Zelensky's chief of staff who led the Ukrainian delegation on Telegram.

Saudi Arabia has played a mediation role since the Russian invasion, including brokering the prisoner exchange and hosting talks between Moscow and Washington last month.
