Google Maps Increases Features To Support Homecoming Flows During Eid

JAKARTA Google said that they will maximize the Google Maps feature to support this year's Eid homecoming. The application is improved based on annual collaboration with the NATIONAL POLICE.

Based on Lisye Octaviana's statement, Jasa Marga's Corporate Communications and Community Development Group Head, the homecoming flow is predicted to peak on March 20 on regular roads and on March 28 on toll roads. Meanwhile, the backflow will peak on April 6.

In supporting homecoming and backflow during the Lebaran week, Google will provide the latest information on Google Maps that has been adjusted to the Ministerial Decree 3. Google will also display traffic flow information on various types of roads.

"We, every year, always collaborate with Jasa Marga and Korlantas to ensure that information such as SKB 3 Ministers can access the public through Google Maps," said Galuh Rohmah, Strategic Partnerships Development Manager of Google Maps Indonesia, when met at the Google office on Tuesday, March 11.

In accordance with the SKB 3 Minister, collective leave is set on April 2 to 7 so that people have more time to stay in touch. This joint leave date will be adjusted to traffic flow in various regions so that people have no trouble finding alternative routes.

In addition, Google will also include police discretion into Google Maps, such as adding functional or alternative toll roads. That way, people will be directed to certain toll roads to avoid long congestion.

"We provide services not only for travelers using private vehicles, but also by train. So, travelers can access the long-distance train schedules from KAI on Google Maps. Homecomers can see the train schedule, then travelers can also see the train name via Google Maps," said Galuh.

Through this ongoing partnership, Google wants to provide the best navigation services for all users, whether driving on private vehicles or using public transportation such as long-distance trains.

"The hope is that Google Maps can be a help for the community to return home comfortably, on time," explained Galuh. To improve user experience, Google will also provide support information such as rest areas, gas stations, workshops, and other public facilities.
