Atmosphere Of Indonesian Football Supporters In Ole Romeny's Eyes: Not Normal
JAKARTA - Oxford United players who are also Indonesian national team players admit that the atmosphere of supporters in the country is different from other countries. This statement was made by Romeny after realizing how high football is fanaticism in Indonesia.
Ole Romeny is one of 27 players on the Indonesian national team's temporary list. The Garuda squad will visit Australia on March 20, 2025, in order to undergo the 2026 World Cup Qualification continued match.
Getting the opportunity and trust to join the squad, Ole Romeny also admitted that he could not wait to immediately defend the Indonesian national team.
"Against Australia in the first match under Patrick Kluiver's coaching, I was enthusiastic about that match."
"I was there (Indonesia) and saw their welcome. There his football life was abnormal. I can't wait to see that," Ole Romeny was quoted as saying by ESPN Netherland on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.

Ole Romeny also highlighted the hecticness of Indonesian netizens on social media which made him popular after officially holding the status of an Indonesian citizen in February 2025.
"You know how active they are on social media. There was indeed an 'explosion' on social media. However, when I was there, the kids were also playing football."
"I played football in a village. In the end, you just want to be an inspiration to the kids," said Ole Romeny.
Seeing the high enthusiasm of football supporters in the country, Ole Romeny is optimistic about the progress of Indonesian football in the future.
"In my opinion, this country has a lot of potential. If there was more field for these children, then they would get more opportunities. This would be amazing for Indonesia," said Romeny.
Furthermore, Romeny gave a response to the competition for the front line in the Indonesian national team. Although the original position is the left wing striker, Romeny can also be installed as the spearhead.
In the Indonesian national team, the position of left-wing striker is now filled by Ragnar Oratmangoen and the spearhead is occupied by Rafael Struick. Following Romeny's presence, it is not impossible that he will be Patrick Kluivert's first choice in the two positions.
Romeny also doesn't mind the tight competition. He is ready to compete in a healthy manner and leave the decision to Kluiver.
"Of course I chose Indonesia to be an important part of the team. However, the position choice is not in my authority. I am here to play football," he said.
