Hundreds Of Indian Foreigners Entered Indonesia, Dozens Of Them Were Positive For COVID-19
JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Task Force recorded 160 people from India entering Indonesia. Based on the results of the examination, 12 of them were positive for COVID-19.
Pangdam Jaya Maj. Gen. Dudung Abdurachman said that dozens of people who tested positive for COVID-19 were Indian citizens.
"Of these 160 people, 153 are native Indians, 12 have tested positive", Dudung told reporters, Saturday, April 24.
Currently, dozens of Indian foreigners have been taken to the Cariston Hotel to undergo independent isolation for 14 days. As for the rest, they are placed in the Holiday Inn Hotel.

Meanwhile, of the hundreds of people, there are seven who are Indonesian citizens. Even though the results of the examination tested negative for COVID-19, they also had to undergo isolation at the Pademangan Athlete House.
"Because India currently has an extraordinary spike in COVID-19, so foreigners and Indonesian citizens from India are anticipating it so that there will be no spread in Indonesia", said Dudung.
For information, hundreds of Indian citizens entered Indonesia on Wednesday, April 21 through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Several days after India announced a spike in new COVID-19 cases that exceeded 300 thousand cases per day.
