Bali Becomes The 2025 Rock Climbing World Cup Series

JAKARTA Bali has the trust to host one of the IFSC Climbing World Cup series 2025. The series is planned to be held on May 2-4, 2025.

The Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation (FPTI) as the organizer also chose Peninsula Island, Nusa Dua, as the location for the prestigious event. An audience with Bali Governor I Wayan Koster was held some time ago.

The IFSC Climbing World Cup event, Robertus Robet, said that during the hearing, I Wayan guaranteed that he would fully support the implementation of the Rock Climbing World Cup series in his area.

"We are happy and grateful that the Governor of Bali I Wayan Koster is willing to go all out and fully support the Rock Climbing World Cup in Bali," said Robet in an official statement received by the media.

This commitment is a form of support for Indonesia's rock climbing achievements which have contributed gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Especially one of the athletes in the contingent to Paris from Bali, namely Desak Made Rita Kusumadewi.

Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the IFSC Climbing World Cup, Herry Heryyawan, revealed that the Peninsula Island option, Bali, as a location has gone through various considerations.

One of them is supporting infrastructure in Nusa Dua Bali, which is already international for international events.

"Peninsula Island offers spectacular sea views creating an iconic background that strengthens the appeal of international events."

"This is in line with our efforts with the government to promote sport tourism and increase tourist visits," he said.

The Bali series will be followed by 30 countries, including Indonesia as the host. Each country will later send 10 athletes.

Indonesia itself will send names such as Rajiah Salsabillah, Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi, and gold medalist at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Veddriq Leonardo.

Indonesia has hosted the IFSC Climbing World Cup three times. The three of them were held in Jakarta, precisely in the SCBD Jakarta area and the Gelora Bung Karno Complex, Senayan.
