Filled With Dozens Of PSI Cadres, Commission IV Of The DPR Asked The Minister Of Transportation Of The King Juli To Explain The Mechanism For Selection Of The 2030 Net Sink FOLU Team

JAKARTA - Member of Commission IV DPR RI, Johan Rosihan asked the Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni to explain to the public the mechanism for appointing dozens of cadres of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) in the structure of the Indonesian Operation Management Office (OMO) Forestry and Other Land Use (FOLU) Net Sink 2030. Where the appointment is based on the Decree of the Minister of Forestry Number 32 of 2025.

Johan said the importance of transparency and accountability in the recruitment process for FOLU team members Net Sink 2030. According to him, the appointment must be carried out in a transparent manner and based on competencies that are in accordance with the program's objectives, namely reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the forestry and land use sector.

"The public has the right to know the selection mechanism, to ensure that this appointment is not merely a division of power, but is really based on expertise relevant to environmental policies," said Johan, Saturday, March 8.

The PKS legislator assessed that the placement of individuals who have political affiliations in strategic positions in the environmental sector raises concerns about potential conflicts of interest. It is known that the Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antono is the Secretary General of PSI.

"The FOLU Net Sink 2030 program is a national program that must be managed professionally and independently, not as a political tool that benefits certain groups. Therefore, evaluation of the composition of the team needs to be carried out to ensure that the decisions taken are purely for the benefit of the nation and the environment," he said.

Although the Ministry of Forestry has stated that the budget for the 2030 FOLU Net Sink team comes from international donors and not from the state budget, according to Johan, transparency is still needed in its management and use.

"Details regarding the source of funds, the amount of honorariums given, as well as the mechanism for budget allocation must be opened to the public to avoid misuse and increase public confidence in this program," he said.

Johan assessed that as a strategic program in climate change mitigation, the 2030 FOLU Net Sink must be led and managed by people who have capacity in the fields of forestry, the environment, and climate change.

He emphasized that professionalism must be a top priority so that this program runs effectively and is not only a political discourse.

"Therefore, I urge the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) to openly explain the selection mechanism for the 2030 FOLU Net Sink team, ensure accountability in budget management, and evaluate so that this program really brings benefits to the environment and society," he concluded.
