Korlantas Polri: The One Way Non-Stop Scheme Is The Last Choice To Overcome The 2025 Eid Congestion

JAKARTA - The one way scheme is non-stop, which is considered effective in anticipating or unraveling congestion during the 2025 Eid homecoming. However, the Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police stated that the scheme was implemented if other traffic engineering was not successful.

"One way is the last attempt in traffic engineering during Eid al-Fitr 2025," said Director of Law Enforcement (Dirgakkum) Korlantas Polri, Brigadier General Raden Slamet Santoso, to VOI, Friday, March 7.

However, it is not explained about the reasons or considerations behind the non-stop one way scheme is the last option to replace or unravel congestion.

So far, it has only been explained about the definition and mechanism of implementing a one way non-stop scheme. It is said, the implementation will be continuous. This means that there is no pause or duration of application.

"Similarly, the implementation (one way) is at least 24 hours," said Slamet.

Previously, the Head of Traffic Police, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, said that the one way scheme would be applied non-stop or without pause or continuous on the Trans Java toll road.

"The application of one way will be carried out continuously without stopping. We have planned everything based on analysis and evaluation from last year. The goal is that the flow of vehicles can continue to flow without obstacles," said Agus.

The scheme hopes to maintain smooth traffic, even though the volume of vehicles increases significantly. Agus also said that the one way non-stop scheme will be implemented when the peak of homecoming flows is predicted from March 28 to 30. Even when the backflow later.

"On D-3 Eid al-Fitr, we will apply one national way to unravel congestion. We will also implement one way during backflow, with further announcements regarding the implementation schedule," said Agus.

The National Police previously estimated that the number of travelers at the moment of Eid 2025 was more than 100 million people. Therefore, steps to anticipate congestion or traffic jams will be taken.
