Protested, Pramono Explains The Reasons For Monitoring Helicopter Floods
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung realized that there were parties who questioned why he monitored the Jakarta floods and used helicopters.
Pramono admitted that he wanted to see firsthand the current condition of the Jakarta floods and areas that were still clearly affected by air monitoring.
"Why use a helicopter? Yes, if we use a helicopter, we really want to see which places still have the potential for blockages or not, so we have already traveled around," said Pramono in Kampung Susun Bayam, North Jakarta, Thursday, March 6.
In the air review he conducted together with the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government and Kakorpolairud Baharkam Polri, Pramono also monitored the flood conditions in Bekasi, West Java, which were one of the areas most severely affected by the flood.
"A very serious problem is in Bekasi. Why? Because the water cannot be removed. The pump does not exist. So I am grateful to see from above so that I can take pictures as a whole," said Pramono.
Pramono also mentioned the potential for extreme weather that will still take place in Jakarta from March 11 to 20. The former Cabinet Secretary said that the DKI Provincial Government has been preparing to anticipate the impact of flooding in the next few days.
"If it is in accordance with BMKG predictions, if March 11 or March 12, the rainfall is the same as yesterday, we are much more prepared to overcome it, so that the anticipation that has been carried out and will be carried out by the Jakarta government is better," he explained.
This morning, Pramono Anung monitored the current flood situation by air using a helicopter belonging to the Baharkam Polri Water and Air Police Corps (Polairud).

From the air, Pramono checked the condition of the settlements that were previously affected by severe flooding. Also monitored by rivers and waterways that had previously overflowed due to extreme rainfall in Jabodetabek.
"When viewed from above, Jakarta's life has started to return to normal," said Pramono at Bhayangkara Field, Police Headquarters, South Jakarta.
Pramono also monitors the condition of the floodgates in Jakarta. One of them, Manggarai Water Gate with a water level of 600 centimeters with a standby or normal status. Previously, when the flood peaked, Manggarai Water Gate reached 850 centimeters or standby 2.
From this condition, Pramono emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government will accelerate the process of land acquisition for settlements along the river for the normalization of Ciliwung, especially in the Cawang, Bidara Cina, and Pengadegan areas.
"Because that was what yesterday had an extraordinary impact on flooding when it was above the intensity or high rainfall, and we will handle that," explained Pramono.
