JAKARTA - A large-scale music show will be presented at the 2026 World Cup finals which will take place at the Metlife Stadium, New Jersey, United States on July 19, 2026.

In this case, the world football federation or FIFA seems to want to present a show like the Super Bowl a prestigious music concert that was featured during the final round of the American Football League (NFL).

"I can confirm the first half-time show in the FIFA World Cup final in New York, New Jersey," said Gianni Infantino, FIFA president, citing an Instagram post caption, Thursday, March 6.

"This will be a historic moment for the FIFA World Cup and a show that matches the biggest sporting event in the world," he continued.

Meanwhile, Coldplay was appointed to help with the selection of musicians who will appear. Chris Martin and band manager Phil Harvey will help determine which artists will perform for 15 minutes during next year's final break.

Music performances in football events are nothing new. At some important moments such as the first match and the World Cup final or the European Champions League finals often presented appearances from well-known musicians.

However, the entire show was present before the team that competed entered the field to compete.

The concept carried out in the 2026 World Cup Final will be different, where the stage and magnificent performance will be present after the first round before the second half.

Meanwhile, the Super Bowl concert, which can be said to be a reference, has been doing so for a long time. The music show in the finals has become very prestigious since Michael Jackson's appearance in 1993.

Since then, only those who have received great attention have been presented, namely Diana Ross, Boyz II Men, Gloria Ettare, gerell Wonder, Phil Collins, Aerosmith, Shania Twain, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Prince, The Who, Black Eyed Peak, Madonna, Beyondure, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Maroon 5, The Weekend, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Rihanna, Usher, and the last one is skills Lamar.
