Garuda Indonesia Group Prepares 1.9 Million Seats For Eid Homecoming 2025
JAKARTA - PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk and its subsidiary PT Citilink Indonesia have prepared 1.9 million aircraft seats for the Lebaran 2025 homecoming period. This figure is the largest in not the last year.
Director of Commerce Garuda Indonesia Ade R Susardi said the number of seats consisted of 1,027,255 seats served through at least 5,710 flights for Garuda Indonesia and 902,830 seats served through at least 5,196 flight frequencies for Citilink.
To optimize flight operations during the peak season Lebaran period, continued Ade, Garuda Indonesia Group also plans to add 341 extra flights, namely 315 Garuda Indonesia flights and 26 Citilink flights to meet the needs of high routes.
Ade said the readiness of the flight services presented by the Garuda Indonesia Group also reflected the consistency of the growth of Garuda Indonesia Group's production equipment every year in line with the increasing demand for air transportation modes.
"We understand that Eid al-Fitr is a moment that the community has been waiting for to gather with family and relatives and take a vacation with the closest people. Therefore, Garuda Indonesia and Citilink are committed to ensuring the readiness of flight operations," he said at a press conference, at the Ministry of SOEs Office, Jakarta, Thursday, March 6.
In this year's Eid holiday period, continued Ade, Garuda Indonesia Group projects that there will be a growth in the number of passengers of 5 to 8 percent compared to the peak season Lebaran in the previous year.
Furthermore, Ade said this year the company is preparing at least 95 fleets through 61 Garuda Indonesia aircraft consisting of 7 wide-body Boeing B777-300ER aircraft, 11 wide-body Airbus A330 Series aircraft, and 43 narrow-body Boeing B737-800NG aircraft.
"Meanwhile, Citilink will prepare at least 31 A320 CEO/NEO fleets and 3 ATR 72-600 fleets," he said.

Regarding the peak of the 2025 homecoming flow, continued Ade, it is estimated that it will occur on March 28, 2025, while for the peak of backflow on April 6, 2025.
Furthermore, Ade said that the optimization of flight capacity will be focused on a number of routes that have high demand such as Jakarta-Tanjung Karang pp, Jakarta-Pangkalpinang pp, Jakarta-Padang pp, and Yogyakarta-Denpasar for domestic routes.
"As well as Jakarta-Jeddah pp, Jakarta-Madinah, Jakarta-Doha pp, Sydney-Denpasar, Denpasar-Narita pp for international routes," he said.
