Lawyers Accusing Hasto Sarat Politization Case After KPK Reports Will Spill Files To Court Tomorrow
JAKARTA - Lawyer who is also the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP for Legal Reform Ronny B. Talapessy said that the politicization of the PDIP Secretary General's case hadto Kristiyanto was increasingly felt after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) planned to hand over the case file to the Jakarta Corruption Court on Thursday, March 6. He believes that the public can see the allegations during the legal process.
"Friends have seen that this politicization case is very thick. Colleagues can observe, yes," Ronny told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, March 5.
In addition, Ronny also accused there are parties who have an interest in this case. "There are so many who support (to punish Hasto, ed) with demonstrations. Until there is a survey, there are banners installed," he said.
"What does that mean, there are those who have an interest in the process of this case," continued Ronny.
Even so, Hasto's camp will not be afraid of various politicization efforts. Ronny said the resistance would be carried out through legal channels.
"We will follow this process and we will fight legally," he said.

Meanwhile, Ronny said that the KPK had informed his party that the bribery case file for the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the DPR RI and the obstruction of the investigation involving former PDIP candidate Harun Masiku would be delegated. The submission was carried out via a short message from the WhatsApp application by the information department.
Previously reported, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto was officially detained in connection with the bribery case for the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives and the obstruction of the investigation on Thursday, February 20. He occupied the State Detention Center Branch of the East Jakarta Class I State Detention Center for 20 days and could be extended according to the needs of investigators.
Hasto was charged with Article 21 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes Jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
As for the bribery case related to PAW, members of the DPR RI, the process will be carried out simultaneously. This is because the investigation warrant (sprindik) issued on December 23, 2024, focuses more on the application of Article 21.
