Break Through Todongkan Pisau And Parang Mosques To Tarawih Prayer Iman, Man In Samarinda Arrested
The police detained the man who carried out sharp weapons (sajam) to the imam of tarawih prayers at the Baitul Arif Mosque, Jalan Damanhuri, Sungai Pinang Dalam Village, Samarinda, East Kalimantan (Kaltim).
"This arrest is part of Operation Pekat Mahakam 2025," said Head of Sungai Pinang Police, Adjunct Commissioner of Police Aksarudin Adam in Samarinda, Wednesday, March 5, confiscated by Antara.
He explained that the case of holding the tarawih prayer imam occurred on Monday, March 3 at around 20.00 WITA.
At that time, the community was performing tarawih prayers at the Baitul Arif Mosque. Suddenly, the perpetrator with the initials SF (48) came to the mosque screaming so that it disturbed the congregation's calm.
"The perpetrator then entered through the side door and pointed at two sharp weapons, in the form of a 45-centimeter machete in the right hand and a 17-centimeter stabbing knife in the left hand," said Aksarudin.
SF then approached the mosque imam with a sharp weapon in his hand. However, before the situation became increasingly dangerous, the perpetrator's biological mother who was also at the scene of the crime (TKP) immediately hugged SF.
The worshipers who were praying tarawih immediately tried to secure the perpetrators and seize the sharp weapons they were carrying.
"Residents who are carrying out tarawih prayers immediately secure the perpetrators and sharp weapons so that they do not cause casualties," he said.
