Police Arrest 2 Methamphetamine Dealers In Singkawang, West Kalimantan Follow Up Residents' Anxiety
The police arrested two drug dealers of methamphetamine in Singkawang, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan).
"The perpetrators had the initials S (35) and Jum (34) who were residents of Singkawang," said KBO Sat Resnarkoba Iptu Priyono when contacted in Singkawang, Wednesday, March 5, confiscated by Antara.
Priyono explained that the arrests were made in a number of places on Tuesday, March 4 at noon.
Perpetrator S was arrested at a house on Jalan Pramuka, Gang Ikhlas, Sekip Lama Village, Central Singkawang District. During the arrest, the police secured evidence in the form of three packages of methamphetamine weighing 5.60 grams.
"This arrest originated from reports from the public who were worried about the activities of suspects who often carried out drug transactions. Based on this information, the Singkawang Police Narcotics Unit team conducted an investigation until they finally found sufficient evidence to make arrests. When they were raided, the suspect tried to escape, but was managed to be secured behind his house," he said.
After the suspect was arrested, officers searched and found two packages of methamphetamine in the hands of the suspect's right hand and another package in his black wallet. In addition, officers also confiscated a blue OPPO brand cellphone that was allegedly used to communicate in drug transactions.

Meanwhile, the suspect JUM (34), a resident of Sedau Village, South Singkawang District, was arrested at a boarding house in Pasiran Village, West Singkawang District. During the arrest, the suspect tried to eliminate evidence by throwing his wallet into the water channel.
However, he said, the attempt failed because officers managed to find a wallet containing two packages of methamphetamine weighing 1.51 grams along with a spoon of pipette. In addition, the police also secured a cell phone that the suspect allegedly used to communicate with a drug trafficking network.
"We continue to be committed to eradicating narcotics trafficking in the jurisdiction of the Singkawang Police. The perpetrators are currently still undergoing further investigation," he said.
He said the confiscated evidence would be sent to Balai POM Pontianak to be tested for authenticity.
For his actions, the two suspects were charged with Article 114 Paragraph (1) and/or Article 112 Paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics. If found guilty, he faces a minimum prison sentence of five years and a maximum of 20 years.
