Peak Homecoming Flow March 28, Transportation Agency Advises Jakarta Residents To Depart Early

JAKARTA - The government predicts that the peak of the homecoming flow ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri will take place on March 28, 2025. Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, assesses that there needs to be anticipation in the face of the surge in homecoming.

"It is projected that there will be a surge in passengers starting March 26 and its peak on March 28. We know that from 28 and 29 there will be an extreme spike that we do not expect," said Syafrin at DKI City Hall, Wednesday, March 5.

Syafrin also suggested that people could travel to their respective hometowns to celebrate Eid with a time of departure earlier than the peak of the homecoming flow.

"Perhaps, I hope that the public can plan to return home long before the 26th, the 26th is a projection because it (starts) a school holiday," said Syafrin.

Meanwhile, Syafrin said the peak of the return flow for homecoming to Jakarta will begin on April 7. Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government will start to take back residents who take part in the free homecoming program on April 6.

"There will be a surge in passengers on April 6 and 7, we anticipate for the departure of the backflow and the DKI Provincial Government on the 6th for the bus and its truck (carrying a motorbike) April 5", he explained.
