Komdigi Temporarily Blocks Digitaloceanspaces.com Sites Because Of Online Gambling Content
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital has blocked the digitaloceanspaces.com site, after the discovery of online gambling content in several subdomains of the site.
Digitaloceanspaces.com is a cloud-based storage service provided by DigitalOcean, which allows users to store and manage data, including website files, images, videos, and other content, online.
But unfortunately, Komdigi found that the service was misused to spread illegal and negative content, such as subdomains containing online gambling content.
"This temporary access termination was carried out after we verified a report from the Ministry of Communication and Industry's complaint system regarding the insertion of gambling content in the digitaloceanspaces.com subdomain," said Director General of Digital Space Supervision, Alexander Sabar, in his official broadcast on Wednesday, March 5.
Alex revealed that access normalization efforts were carried out on Monday, March 3 at 14.00 WIB. However, at 20.00 WIB on the same day, a new subdomain containing gambling content was again found.
Based on a thorough examination, the Komdigi digital space control team found 123 subdomains containing online gambling content. All these subdomains have been blocked to prevent the spread of content.
