Palace Ensures That Jabodetabek Post-banjir Assistance Is Handled Optimally
JAKARTA - Head of the Presidential Communication Office (PCO) Hasan Nasbi ensured that assistance for flood victims in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas was handled optimally by related agencies and institutions.
According to Hasan, the taklimat conveyed by President Prabowo to the Red and White Cabinet (KMP) was conveyed so that assistance was given to flood victims as part of disaster management which is currently led by the process by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).
"It will definitely be handled as well as possible because there has been a directive from the President to the disaster management agency, BNPB," Hasan said when met at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 4.
Coordination between members of the Red and White Cabinet (KMP) has been carried out to ensure flood victims in Jabodetabek can get good treatment while looking for solutions so that very heavy rain can be overcome so as not to add flood points in the future.
Regarding social assistance for victims of the Jabodetabek flood, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul when giving a statement to the media crew that the Ministry of Social Affairs had disbursed assistance worth Rp. 3 billion to support flood management.
The various assistance provided includes mattresses, pillows, medicines, adult-child clothes, and tents to ensure refugees get a proper place.
Specifically related to flooding, Gus Ipul said that the President had asked all parties, from law enforcement officials to volunteers to synergize with each other to deal with flood disasters that hit a number of areas in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi.
"The president instructed all parties, including the TNI, Polri, and volunteers, to work together in disaster management. As always happens, every time there is a disaster, all elements of the nation unite to provide assistance, ranging from evacuation, evacuation, to the rehabilitation stage," said Gus Ipul.

Responding to the President's instructions, Gus Ipul also emphasized that all government resources, from the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta, the Provincial Government of West Java, to volunteers from various organizations, continue to work.
"BNPB remains at the forefront of disaster management, while the Ministry of Social Affairs plays a role in providing logistics and shelters," said Gus Ipul.
