Commission IX Of The House Of Representatives Forms For The Settlement Of The Rights Of Sritex Workers

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission IX of the DPR, Charles Honoris, said that his party formed a kind of post to help resolve the rights of workers affected by layoffs (PHK).

This post was created after Commission IX of the DPR received a complaint from the Sritex union today.

"We have made a settlement post so that the rights of workers in Sritex can be completed immediately in accordance with applicable regulations," said Charles at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 4.

The PDIP legislator predicts that the layoff storm doesn't seem to stop at Sritex alone. So he hopes that whatever form of completion made by this post can become bench marking when other companies experience the same thing.

"But we hope this doesn't happen, we hope that our economy will be fine, there will be no more layoffs. But how come if you look at the facts on the ground today, the world's economic condition is not good, we need to prepare a good mechanism so that workers who are laid off get everything rights well," he said.

Charles hopes that all workers' rights ranging from severance pay to unpaid THR can be completed soon.

"We hope that all the rights of the workers can be obtained soon, and of course keep the spirit, Indonesia's future is still bright," continued Charles.

Previously, the Sritex Group Workers Union asked the DPR for help so that the rights of employees affected by layoffs (PHK) could be fulfilled by the company.

This was conveyed by the Sritex Workers Union ahead of a hearing (RDP) with Commission IX of the DPR this afternoon.

"We make sure that we want to back up, of course, our rights that have not been paid to this day are related to severance pay, holiday allowances, and several other rights that have not been given after the decision of layoffs by the curator," said Sritex Worker Group Coordinator Slamet Kaswanto at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 4.
