AWS Encourages Investment In Indonesia To Improve The Cloud Computing Ecosystem
JAKARTA Amazon Web Services (AWS) says that they believe in the potential development of cloud computing in Indonesia. Therefore, AWS dares to invest in large quantities.
For more than fifteen years, the cloud giant has invested US$5 billion or equivalent to Rp82 trillion. From this investment, AWS has had a good impact by adding GDP of around US$10.9 billion (Rp179 trillion) annually.
That way, AWS Indonesia Country Manager, Anthony Amni, emphasized that trust in the Indonesian market is not just talk, but has been proven for a long time. In fact, AWS has built a data center since December 2021.
The investment that AWS presents is not only in the form of funds and the construction of data centers, but also in the form of talents. The company wants to encourage digitization and use of cloud computing in Indonesia through its talents and technology.
"Talenta, this is the word function," said Anthony at the Indonesian AWS office on Tuesday, March 4. "Our mission, for us, is how much (we) can prepare a digital future through this, about talent and manpower."

AWS is aware that the increase in digital talent in Indonesia is not only the role of the state, but all parties, including AWS. Therefore, AWS offers several educational programs to build more talents and labor in the field of technology.
This technology company teaches basic cloud computing training and how to build websites through Terampil in the Clouds, a program that is already available in 26 provinces. This program has been followed by more than 400 students.
There is also a Think Big Space and STEAM program to help more students in Indonesia. Recently, AWS also held an AI Cloud competition in West Java which was attended by more than 30,000 participants.
"So, from 2017 to this moment, we have trained more than 800 thousand talents and workers in Indonesia. That's something we always said we were proud of and put on our chests," said Anthony.
