Alert For Extreme Weather, BMKG Predicts Rain In Several Regions Of Indonesia
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that most major cities in Indonesia have the potential to experience rain on Monday, March 3. Extreme weather also occurs in various regions.
"In Java, it will generally rain light to moderately, such as in Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya," said BMKG forecaster Ranti Kurniati, quoted from ANTARA, Monday morning.
In Sumatra, light to moderate rain is expected to occur in Pekanbaru, Bengkulu, Jambi, Palembang, and Bandar Lampung.
Meanwhile, Padang and Pangkal Pinang have the potential to experience heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds, while Banda Aceh, Medan, and Tanjung Pinang are predicted to be thick cloudy.
In the Nusa Tenggara region, the weather in Denpasar and Mataram is predicted to be cloudy, while Kupang is cloudy.
In Kalimantan, light rain is expected to fall in several cities such as Samarinda, Banjarmasin, Pontianak, Tanjung Selor, and Palangkaraya.
Meanwhile, in Sulawesi, light to moderate rain has the potential to occur in Makassar, Palu, Gorontalo, Manado, and Kendari, while Mamuju is expected to experience heavy rain.

In Eastern Indonesia, heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds is predicted to occur in Nabire, Jayawijaya, and Merauke. Ternate, Sorong, and Jayapura cities are predicted to experience rain with light to moderate intensity. Meanwhile, Ambon is predicted to be cloudy, and Manokwari experiences running air.
