For The Smooth Running Of The MBG Program, The Mayor Of Madiun Speeds Up The Provision Of 16 SPPG

Mayor of Madiun Maidi is speeding up the need for 16 units of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) needed for the smooth running of the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program in the Madiun City area, East Java.

"One of my first 100 working days after being inaugurated is the 'marathon' for the provision of 16 SPPGs for the smooth needs of the MBG program from the central government," said Mayor Maidi on the sidelines of a review of the location improvement of the Madiun City Kilometer Zero Point Monument, as reported by ANTARA.

According to him, currently Madiun City already has one SPPG unit on Tirta Raya Street, Manguharjo District, Madiun City. The SPPG serves around 3,000 children participating in the MBG program targeting school students.

According to the data, the total number of students in Madiun City who are the target of the free nutritious eating program reaches 51,000 children, so they still need 16 kitchens or SPPGs again. Not to mention the target of pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and non-PAUD toddlers.

Meanwhile, as many as 16 places have been mapped, but his party did not mention the location used whether the City Government's assets or cooperating with other parties, either from the private sector or government agencies.

"As many as 16 places, I will first review their feasibility. God willing, these 16 places will be completed within 100 working days. So that the MBG program can be implemented immediately in all target schools," he said.

He added that the implementation of the MBG program was purely financed by the APBN. However, local governments must support, one of which is related to the provision of target data and kitchens or SPPG units used for cooking.

"Essentially, the Madiun City Government is ready to support the success of the MBG program initiated by President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran," he said.

For information, the government is committed to overcoming nutritional problems as a basic step to create a strong next generation and have the potential to become a pillar of the nation's progress, in order to realize the ideals of Indonesia Gold 2045.

Meanwhile, one of Quick Wins' programs that is important to realize the 4th Astacita is to provide healthy nutritious food in schools and Islamic boarding schools as well as nutrition assistance for toddlers and pregnant women. Among them are through a free nutritious eating program by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) which will start in January 2025.

In order to be effective, he said, the program must collaborate with various parties and stakeholders. One of them involves agencies such as the TNI, Polri, and local governments.

With cross-sector collaboration, it is hoped that the Prabowo-Gibran government program can improve the quality of community nutrition, alleviate nutrition poverty, and prevent stunting.
