Instagram Delays Edits Launch, CapCut Competitor App

JAKARTA Instagram announced that it will launch Edits, a editing app like CapCut last January. The app is promised to be available on March 13.

It looks like Meta will be late in launching Edits. Pre-order pages for the Edits app are already available on the App Store with a description of the developer's name, free label, and launch time description.

On the page, the App Store notes that Edits will be available on March 31, two weeks later than the promised date. It is not yet certain whether Meta has postponed its launch schedule as seen on the App Store.

Edits is an application introduced when TikTok and CapCut are banned from operating in the US. The app is designed to help Instagram creators who want to upload content on Reels, but can also be used by non-creators.

The concept is indeed similar to CapCut which is integrated with TikTok. When introduced by Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri, Edits is explained to have a suite of features such as special inspiration tab and tan to track down the user's ideas.

There is also high-quality camera support for recording videos, editing tools such as apps in general, draft sharing skills with other people, and content exports directly to Reels.

Users can still cut or combine video clips, add voice and artificial sound, or add subtitles directly from the app. To find out more features in it, we need to wait until Edits is officially released.
