Reference Prices For CPO And Kakao Lesu Seeds In March 2025

JAKARTA - Reference Price (HR) for palm oil (CPO) commodities for the determination of export levies (PE), for the March 2025 period amounted to USD 954.50/MT. This value decreased by USD 0.94 or 0.10 percent from HR CPO for the period 1 28 February 2025 which was recorded at USD 955.44/MT.

This determination is stated in the Decree of the Minister of Trade (Kepmendag) Number 220 of 2025 concerning HR CPO Worn by BK and BPDP-KS Public Service Tariff for the period March 2025.

Plt. The Director General of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Trade, Isy Karim, said that the BK CPO for the March 2025 period referred to the Number 7 Attachment Letter C of the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 38 of 2024 amounting to USD 124/MT. Meanwhile, the PE CPO for the March 2025 period refers to Attachment I PMK Number 62 of 2024 amounting to 7.5 percent of HR CPO for the March 2025 period, which is USD 71.5877/MT.

"Currently, HR CPO has fallen close to the threshold of USD 680/MT. For this reason, referring to the current PMK, the government imposed a BK CPO of USD 124/MT and a CPO PE of 7.5 percent of HR CPO March 2025, which is USD 71.5877/MT for the March 2025 period," said Isy quoting a written statement, Jakarta, Saturday, March 1.

The source of prices for determining the HR CPO in question was obtained from the average price during the period January 25, February 24, 2025 on the CPO exchange in Indonesia amounting to USD 845.38/MT, the CPO exchange in Malaysia amounting to USD 1,063.62/MT, and the Rotterdam CPO Auction Market amounting to USD 1,418.68/MT.

Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Trade (Permendag) Number 46 of 2022, if there is an average price difference in three sources of price of more than USD 40, the calculation of HR CPO uses an average of two sources of price that become median and source the closest price from median. Therefore, HR is sourced from the CPO exchange in Malaysia and the CPO exchange in Indonesia.

In accordance with these calculations, it was determined that HR CPO fell to USD 954.50/MT. The decline in HR CPO was due to several factors, namely a decrease in demand, especially from India and a decrease in vegetable oil prices.

In addition, cooking oil (Refined, Bleached, and Deodorized/RBD palm olein) in branded packaging and packaged with a net weight of 25 kg is worn by BK USD 31/MT with a brand determination as stated in the Minister of Trade Decree No. 221 of 2025 concerning the List of Refined, Bleached, and Deodorized (RBD) Palm Olein in Branded Packaging and Packed with a Netto Weight of 25 Kg.

Meanwhile, the HR of cocoa beans for the March 2025 period was set at USD 10,394.87/MT, down by USD 486.06 or 4.47 percent from the previous month. This has an impact on the decline in the Export Patokan Price (HPE) of cocoa beans in March 2025 to USD 9,910/MT, down USD 485 or 4.66 percent from the previous period.

This price reduction did not have an impact on BK cocoa beans, which remained at 15 percent according to column 4 Attachment Letter B to PMK Number 38 of 2024. The decline in HR and HPE cocoa beans, among others, was influenced by increased production in line with the improvement in weather in the main producing country.

On the other hand, HPE skin products for the period March 2025 did not change from the previous month. Meanwhile, HPE wood products increased on several types of wood, namely VEneer wood from natural forests, wood in pieces of pieces or fragments (wood in chips or particles), wood chips (chipwood), processed wood with a cross section area of 1,000 4,000 mm2 of mixed jungle types, other sort of teak and forest plants of pine and gemelina species, sephericals, balgons and balsa, and eucalyptus.

Meanwhile, VEneer wood from forest plants, wooden sheet for packing boxes, processed wood with a cross section area of 1,000 4,000 mm2 of the meranti type, smell, other sortiments of ebony type and rubber go down. Determination of CELLphones for cocoa beans, HPE for skin products, and HPE for wood products is listed in the Minister of Trade Decree No. 219 of 2025 concerning Export Patokan Prices and Reference Prices for Agricultural and Forestry Products Worn by BK.
