Trust Crisis With Royalty System, Julie Angel Chooses To Hoard Her Song
JAKARTA - Singers of Julie Angel's song are faced with problems that make her reluctant to release her songs, even though she admits that many songs have been written and ready to be produced.
The Box's initial vocalist called the crisis of trust issue regarding music royalties in Indonesia a major problem, especially the performance rights for live events.
"If our system is good, our system is good for creating songs, I will release more songs. Meanwhile, I will hold it, because there are still trust issues," Julie said when met at Senayan, Central Jakarta, Friday, February 28.
Julie herself still has problems hanging over royalties from songs created while still being the vocalist of the Box
"Honestly, because yesterday's problem has not been resolved, with the band," said Julie
The crisis of trust also made Julie think long if she had to submit her song to be released through other singers or groups.

"Yes, it's him, if the system is clear, the contract is clear, the payment is clear, that's good. But if it's not clear, then we'll say goodbye," said the soloist who is also the vocalist of JAS MERAH.
"It's like we have a song, and the song is an asset, so if the transaction is not clear, we will not issue it. That's what I've been doing for 15 years," he added.
With the hope that the problem with music royalties can be resolved and things will get better for songwriters, Julie ensures that she will bring out new works for her solo career.
"There is (a solo project plan), I will release a single. (This year) hopefully, once this is done, I will definitely release it soon," he concluded.
