Report Of Ramadan Grab Trends: Majority Of Users Spend More Food Ingredients

JAKARTA Grab shared reports of Ramadan trends regarding the activities of its users during fasting. This consumer trend is believed to be able to help entrepreneurs or brands who take advantage of Grab's platform.

Roy Nugroho, Director of Grab for Business Grab Indonesia, said that the unique trend in the month of Ramadan will increase business opportunities and income from business or brand owners. Therefore, this trend is important to share as a tool for increasing strategy.

"By understanding consumer preferences and knowing when is the right time to launch a campaign, business people can not only increase visibility, but also build stronger relationships with customers in the long term," Roy said in a statement.

Based on user data obtained last year, 78 percent of users believe that they will spend more money this year than last year. And in line with last year's trend, the majority of funds are used for food and drinks.

This happens because people think more about the menu to break the fast in the month of Ramadan. Last year, an average of IDR 3.4 million was used to buy food and drinks by 50 percent, fashion or clothing 41 percent, and cosmetics 27 percent.

In addition, Ramadan has also changed the consumption pattern of Grab users. People tend to take advantage of the GrabMart feature to buy raw food. They are more interested in cooking their own food and enjoying it with their family.

There was an 11 percent spike in orders in the first week of Ramadan and a 5 percent daily spike for a month. In addition, the purchase spike also occurred between 3 to 5 am with a percentage of around 49 percent and between 2 to 4 pm and a percentage of 22 percent.

This increase is in line with the survey results which states that 56 percent of Grab users prefer to eat home food on weekdays. Meanwhile, the average user tends to gather to share open on weekends.
